Juventus secured a crucial 2-0 home win against Udinese with goals from Nico Gonzalez and Dusan Vlahovic.
The Bianconeri got to the game with selection issues as Pierre Kalulu, Nicolò Savona and Khephren Thuram were suspended while Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, Arkadiusz Milik and Teun Koopmeiners were out injured.
Udinese travelled to Turin without the suspended Arthur Atta and Lorenzo Lucca, their leading scorer, and the injured Isaak Touré, Florian Thauvin, Matin Payero, Jaka Bijol, and Iker Bravo.
The home side dominated possession in the first half and had the first two chances with Randal Kolo Muani and Manuel Locatelli.
The Frenchman tried to beat Maduka Okoye from a tight angle, but was denied by the Udinese keeper, while Locatelli’s shot from outside the box was wide of the near post.

Kenan Yildiz returned to action after serving a two-game ban, and his shot from distance was deflected for a Juventus corner kick, but the Old Lady had the best chance in the first half just seconds before the break, when Okoye pushed Nico’s shot onto the base of the upright.
Jesper Karlström had a chance for Udinese after the break, but Michele Di Gregorio easily saved his weak shot from the edge of the box, while Okoye produced a fantastic fingertip save on a Francisco Conceiçao curler on the counter-attack.
Udinese played with more courage in the second half, and Juventus felt the pressure. Keinan Davis had another good opportunity for the visitors, but his shot from a good position was inaccurate, also due to the pressing from the Juventus defence.
The Bianconeri took the lead after the hour mark when Oumar Solet won the ball from Conceiçao inside the box, but lost it quickly from Yildiz’s pressing, so the Turkish striker passed it to Nico Gonzalez, who found the net with a powerful attempt at the far post.
Dusan Vlahovic was introduced as a substitute at minute 72 and found the net in the final stages, finalising a perfect counter-attack conducted by Yildiz, who provided his second assist in the game.
Roma’s win against Milan and Lazio’s draw against Inter mean the Bianconeri remain alone in fourth, but will need another victory in the final matchday against Venezia to be certain of Champions League qualification.
