Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and Leicester City are all reportedly eyeing a move for Luton Town forward, Millenic Alli.

Revealed by Football Insider on Thursday, Boro, Blades and the Foxes are all preparing to move for the Hatters attacker.

The 25-year-old only signed for Luton from League One side Exeter City in January, in a deal that was understood to be worth £1.5m.

We asked our Luton Town fan pundit, Simon Mills: 'Sheffield United, Middlesbrough & Leicester City are all reportedly chasing Millenic Alli. Are you surprised that top-end Championship clubs are keen on him?'

Mills said: "I actually think that it's really easy to throw relegated players' names out there in association with clubs in the league above.

"It's obviously going to happen because we did get relegated, and we do have some good players. But these players that are being linked away are going to cost a lot of money.

"Alli only joined in January, so if someone does want him, they're going to have to pay top dollar for him.

"I haven't heard any notable noise from around the club that Alli is trying to force a move away or anything - he was featured in our training ground photos recently.

"We don't typically do that if players are on the verge of a move. So for me, I think it's a bit of a non-story right now."

Millenic Alli could thrive by becoming Luton Town's main man in attack next season

Alli looks set to have a real chance of becoming Luton Town's main man in attack next season, should he remain at Kenilworth Road beyond this summer.

Carlton Morris appears to be heading of Derby County, with a deal reportedly agreed between the two clubs.

It also remains to be seen whether the likes of Cauley Woodrow and Elijah Adebayo will remain with the club in League One, or whether they will seek moves elsewhere.

As such, the Dublin-born striker may well blossom into a key role for the Hatters in the third tier, potentially being tasked with firing the club back to the Championship.

If that is to be his role next term, the Irishman may well be better served remaining at Kenilworth Road and playing regular football, instead of perhaps adopting a backup role at a top-end second tier side.

At 25 and with a World Cup on the horizon next summer that Ireland will be hoping to qualify for, it feels vitally important for Alli to be playing week in, week out next season more than most.
