According to Sky Germany today, Chelsea have made contact to sign 18-year-old centre back Karim Coulibaly.
The defender, who stands at 6ft 3in tall already at such a young age, is currently playing for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga in Germany.

But it appears that he is attracting some strong interest from a number of top European clubs already after a breakthrough season.
Coulibaly already plays for the Germany U21 national side, and I am sure it wont be long before we see him added into the senior Germany squad.
Sky Germany report that Chelsea are showing concrete interest in Coulibaly. They go as far as saying that The Blues have already made contact with the player’s representatives, but no talks have yet taken place between the clubs.
So, with contact made, you’d imagine that this is serious interest and Chelsea will soon be getting in touch with his club to see if something is possible.
I personally didn’t think it was fair that Fernandez got punishment but Marc Cucurella didn’t. There was variations in their comments but they both essentially did the same thing. Podcasters have been debating this very subject.
Chelsea academy star Ryan Kavuma-McQueen made his debut for the club against Port Vale at the weekend, and he has since been compared with academy graduate Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is of course now at Nottingham Forest.
