The Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva has set a Tribunal Pleno hearing for Palmeiras duo Allan and Barboza on Friday from 9:30.

According to Globo.com, Barboza was cited under Article 258 of the Código Brasileiro de Justiça Desportiva for a breach of sporting ethics and received a two-match suspension, having already served one automatically.

The punishment stems from his dismissal against Flamengo while at Botafogo. He was sent off for denying a clear chance, then insulted referee Anderson Daronco, as noted in the referee’s report.

Allan, a forward, was cited under Article 254 for violent conduct. He was sent off against Chapecoense, the last match before the World Cup break. The sanction was two games, including the automatic ban.

If the decisions are overturned, Barboza would be cleared to debut for Palmeiras against Coritiba, the team’s first match after the World Cup. Allan will serve the automatic ban in that game and, if the appeal fails, also miss Atlético-MG.

Palmeiras lodged the appeals weeks ago and awaited the STJD to set a date. Relations between club and tribunal have been strained by other sanctions, including Abel Ferreira’s ban that kept him off the Brasileirão touchline for about a month.
