Strasbourg resigned to losing Valentín Barco amid Chelsea talks | OneFootball

RC Strasbourg Alsace are resigned to losing midfielder Valentín Barco (21) this summer, as per a report from L’Équipe. The Argentina international is currently engaged in talks to join fellow BlueCo-owned club, Chelsea.

ESPN have reported that Barco’s move to Chelsea is already a done deal. Whilst L’Équipe deny the completion of a move, the publication does nonetheless confirm that talks between the Premier League side and the player’s entourage have been ongoing for several months. It is thought that Barco is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge. A six-year contract is on the table, with former RCSA manager Liam Rosenior the instigator of the club’s push to sign the player. The pair worked together prior to Rosenior’s exit from the Meinau back in January.

Regardless of whether Chelsea is Barco’s destination, Strasbourg are aware that it will be impossible to retain the former Brighton and Hove Albion player this summer.
