Sunderland and Newcastle United ‘make enquiries’ for Juventus midfielder Khephran Thuram

According to Calcio Mercato, Sunderland and Newcastle United have reportedly made enquiries about Juventus and France midfielder Khephran Thuram.

The Black Cats are yet to make their first signing of the summer as they prepare for a maiden Europa League campaign. They have also been buoyed by indications Granit Xhaka looks set to stay despite strong interest from Chelsea.

Director of football Florent Ghisolfi has said the focus this window will be on stability rather than sweeping change.

The report adds that Nottingham Forest, said to be flush from the £115m received for Elliot Anderson, have also lodged enquiries.

Manchester United and Liverpool are described as admirers of the 25-year-old, while Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and European champions Paris Saint-Germain are also cited as interested.
