Sunderland are exploring a double summer move, with interest in Napoli midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Olympiacos right-back Costinha.
Il Mattino reports that Sunderland remain keen on Anguissa after assessing a deal last summer. The 30-year-old has had an injury-affected campaign and, despite a contract to 2027, Napoli could consider offers rather than pursue a renewal.
Sunderland were among the clubs to push hardest previously, alongside Bournemouth, and the player’s family were understood to favour a return to England. Antonio Conte convinced him to stay then, and a Premier League move could again be an option this summer.
Despite fitness concerns, Anguissa’s ball-carrying, physicality and final-third output could add experience to Régis Le Bris’ midfield, if a deal proves financially viable.
Sunderland are also being credited with interest in Costinha as they target defensive reinforcements. The 26-year-old played a major part in Olympiacos’ league and cup double last season and featured during their European run. His form has been less consistent this term, though he remains a regular.
The club have monitored the right-back since the January window and are considering whether to formalise that interest. Competition is expected from English and Italian sides. Olympiacos are not set to discuss terms until their campaign ends, and Costinha is under contract until 2029.
