Anguissa’s season has been hampered by injury, complicating talks over a new contract. Though tied to Napoli until 2027, there is a sense the club could listen to offers instead of pushing a renewal.

Sunderland and Bournemouth were said to be among the most persistent suitors previously, with the player’s family understood to favour a return to England. Antonio Conte convinced him to stay then, and a Premier League move could become realistic again this summer.

Despite recent fitness concerns, his profile would add experience and physicality to Sunderland’s midfield. His ball carrying through central areas and contributions in the final third could suit Régis Le Bris’ squad if the numbers stack up.

Sunderland are also being linked with Costinha as they seek defensive reinforcements. The 26-year-old helped Olympiacos to a league and cup double last season and featured in their European run, while remaining a regular this term despite patchier form.

Reports suggest Sunderland have monitored him since January and are weighing whether to make an offer. Competition is expected from England and Italy, and Olympiacos are not set to discuss a sale until their campaign ends, with Costinha contracted to 2029.
