Sunderland Women have appointed Rehanne Skinner as Technical Director, a notable early move by new majority owners Bay Collective. The group assumed a majority shareholding earlier this month.

The club said in a statement that Skinner will lead all sporting and football operations, oversee recruitment, align the first team and academy pathway, and deliver the club’s footballing vision.

Formerly a WSL head coach with Spurs and West Ham United, Skinner now steps into a senior strategic role at the club.

She believes strongly in the new owners’ vision and views the role as a chance to help Sunderland get back where it belongs. She also highlights the North East’s historically rich talent pool and notes a personal connection, with her mother from the region.

The appointment is framed as both ambitious and sustainable, intended to build lasting structures and create a platform for long-term success.
