FC Bayern’s Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl has apparently been entrusted with another clear task – to further streamline the salary structure

Important economic decisions are being made in the background at FC Bayern, with the club’s management continuing to work on the cost structure – particularly in terms of salaries

According to Sport BILD, the supervisory board once again gave sports director Max Eberl a clear mandate to reduce salary costs back in February

Bayern bosses focus on salary structure

However, this task is proving to be complex. In addition to financial aspects, internal hierarchies within the squad also play a decisive role, according to the report

At FC Bayern, the team is divided into several salary levels, with top earners such as Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala at the top, each of whom is said to earn over €20 million per year

This is followed by other top performers who earn between €15 and €20 million, including Dayot Upamecano, who is said to have moved up into this category following his contract extension until 2030

Alphonso Davies is also set to receive a salary of around €15 million plus bonus payments following his extension

Tensions possible due to internal hierarchies

It is precisely this salary structure that is causing challenges internally. Players such as Konrad Laimer, who are currently in the midfield of the salary scale, could claim a better classification in the future
