Taylor Swift’s every move is scrutinised in the media, and after mentioning Real Madrid, it is no surprise that the American superstar has hit the headlines in Spain. The 35-year-old Pennsylvania native namedropped the Spanish giants in her new song.

The marketing department at the Santiago Bernabeu will no doubt be delighted that Swift has mentioned Real Madrid, which will ensure some peak brand association.

A Real Madrid contract: Part of Taylor Swift’s wishlist

The line ‘They want a contract with Real Madrid’ appears in Taylor Swift’s latest song, ‘Wi$h Li$t’, which goes on to document the popular desire for fame and glamour. Swift on the other hand, is content with just NFL star Travis Kelce – at least that is presumably the person that that she is singing about.

While Madridistas who are also fans of Swift will no doubt be delighted with this development, spare a thought for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid supporters who also have a weakness for Swift.

Real Madrid’s association with Taylor Swift

It continues Real Madrid’s association with Swift, after the American star performed two nights at the Santiago Bernabeu back in May of 2024. Her concerts were major news in the Spanish capital, although Los Blancos have been paying for it since.

The noise pollution caused by her concerts, amongst others, has seen the Bernabeu banned from hosting concerts for the time being, as it is in breach of environmental regulations. Real Madrid have been looking for solutions since, including soundproofing the entire stadium, but are yet to resolve the matter. It has seen Atletico Madrid make off with a number of major artist concerts since, with the headline that Bad Bunny’s 12-night run will be hosted at the Metropolitano in 2026.
