One Chelsea player has rightfully held his hands up for making a silly mistake to almost see Chelsea throw away a chance to beat West Ham at home.

The Blues beat West Ham 2-1 in the end but it was far from an easy game for them and it took some big changes from Enzo Maresca for Chelsea to go on and win the game in the second half after being 1-0 down at half time.

West Ham also had some late chances to equalise and also more chances before that to even double their lead. So it could have been a very different story than it ended up being, but in the end Chelsea got hugely lucky with the winning goal after a Cole Palmer cross got deflected into the net.

Levi Colwill pretty much gifted West Ham with their opening goal when a poor pass towards his goalkeeper only found the feet of Jarrod Bowen, who slotted home to put West Ham in front to shock the crowd. Things started getting pretty hostile at Stamford Bridge and there were some boos at half time.

A good response from Colwill after the game as he takes to Instagram to hold his hands up and apologise for his mistake and thank his team mates for bailing him out in the end.

‘Terrible mistake from me today but ill bounce back stronger and that’s why u need top players to bail you out. Massive points tonight. Let’s go blues!’

This is all very true and as a fan you appreciate when your players come out and hold their hands up. Mistake happen, we were just lucky in the end that it didn’t matter come the full time whistle!
