The Blame Game Begins at Liverpool: Mohamed Salah Compared to a 'Walking' Messi in Sharp Critique From Former Premier League Striker
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah's facing heavy criticism after the Reds recent run of poor results, with several pundits accusing him of neglecting defensive duties and harming the team’s balance.
Liverpool've suffered three straight losses .. two in the Premier League against Crystal Palace & Chelsea (both 2 - 1) and another against Galatasaray in the Champions League group stage.
Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor accused Salah of being "lazy in defense" and compared his style to Lionel Messi’s late career approach saying he "walks instead of pressing".
Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy added that Salah’s attacking focus is hurting the team’s structure claiming the Egyptian’s presence "disrupts the balance" of the squad.
Coach Arne Slot defended his star forward insisting that the whole team is struggling, not just Salah.
The Egyptian’s dip in form, he argued, reflects broader issue .. experienced players declining, new signings still adapting and the coach’s tactics yet to fully click.
