Unai Emery will lead Aston Villa into the Europa League final against SC Freiburg this evening, a fixture of familiarity to the Spaniard.

Emery is a four-time winner of the Europa League, having won a hat-trick of titles with Sevilla, and a fourth while in charge of Villarreal. He also reached the competition's final with Arsenal in 2019.

Tonight he aims to win a fifthEuropa League title, with a third different club, in what is his sixth European final since 2010. Ahead of the game, Emery has insisted he is not a 'king' of this competition, though he boasts a European pedigree few can match.

Emery's sixth showpiece means he has reached more UEFA club competition finals than any other manager since 2010.

Jurgen Klopp ranks second on the list (5), having reached fourChampions League finals and one Europa League decider. The German has endured a poor record, however, losing four of his five finals.

Diego Simeone is third on the list with four finals reached. The Atletico Madrid manager has twice won the Europa League with the Spanish side, but lost two Champions League finals to rivals Real Madrid.

Five different managers have reached three major European finals since 2010, includingPep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, and Zinedine Zidane. Zidane and Luis Enrique both boast a 100% success rate in European finals.

The former became the first coach to win three consecutiveChampions League trophies with Real Madrid between 2016 and 2018.

Enrique won Champions League finals with Barcelona (2015) and Paris Saint-Germain (2025). He will face Arsenal in his third European final later this month.
