‘There are exchanges because we are part of the same group’ – Liam Rosenior on speaking with Chelsea’s owners | OneFootball

Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior is currently the leading candidate to replace Enzo Maresca as Chelsea manager, and he says he has spoken to the Blues’ owners.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital – Chelsea’s owners – also own Strasbourg under BlueCo group, where Rosenior currently manages.

Asked if he has spoken to BlueCo in recent days, the Englishman said: “There are exchanges because we are part of the same group.”

Rosenior took over the French side last summer and guided them to a seventh-placed league finish in his first season. They are currently seventh this term too.

On the links to Chelsea, he said: “There’s a lot of noise, a lot of speculation, but as a coach, if you get involved, you fail. My job is here, I love this club.

“I didn’t talk to the players about it. No need, they are online and I had a few jokes. But we’re focused on our work. The goal is to continue creating great things here.”

Chelsea are only considering a small pool of managers for the job and they want to hire a replacement for Maresca quickly.

But Rosenior did not give anything away regarding the speculation.

“In life, there are zero guarantees. You never know what tomorrow will bring. I’m just doing my job. There’s already been speculation. 

“I don’t want to guarantee how long I’ll be here, but I enjoy myself here every day. I intend to continue doing so as long as I’m here. I love this club, but I can’t guarantee anything. Nobody can.”
