Thomas Partey, the Villarreal and Ghana midfielder, is facing two further rape charges in the United Kingdom, taking the total to seven, alongside an existing sexual assault charge.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the new counts relate to a fourth woman and alleged incidents in 2020. They are added to proceedings opened in 2025, to which Partey pleaded not guilty in September 2025.

He did not attend Friday's first hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London. His lawyer told the court he intends to plead not guilty, with the next hearing due in April. Partey was in Vitoria for Deportivo Alavés v Villarreal and responded through legal representation.

Before the latest additions, he was accused of five counts of rape and one of sexual assault involving three other women, for alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022.

Partey joined Villarreal as a free agent after leaving Arsenal in June 2025. The club announced his arrival weeks after the first accusations emerged, stressing the presumption of innocence. He continues to deny all counts as the case moves forward.
