For the tenth time, Porsche presented young sports talents prizes as part of its Turbo für Talente youth development programme last Wednesday with the Porsche Turbo Awards, and three youngsters from the Red Bull Football Academy picked up gongs.
The awards were presented by brand ambassador Sami Khedira in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. The 2014 World Cup winners gave the youngsters exciting insights into the life of a pro. A tour of the Porsche Museum was another highlight as the young sportspeople got the chance to learn about the history of the brand.
In the category of best sporting development, U16 player Arion Selimi was honoured for making his comeback after a year's injury break and going on to win the ÖFB Youth League with his team.
Also winning an honour was Jakob Zangerl - for his social engagement off the pitch. The 18-year-old has spent lots of his spare time with a child suffering from cerebral palsy.
According to the sport and development philosophy that follows the principle of 51% education and 49% sport, the stars of tomorrow do not only get the best possible sporting development at the Red Bull Academy but also a comprehensive school education that can set them up for a future career. The Porsche Awards therefore also recognise performance in school. Our Young Bull Valentin Zabransky took that honour for doing the best in school despite the challenges of playing in the ADMIRAL 2 Liga, UEFA Youth League and Austrian national team.
Valentin Zabransky and Jakob Zangerl were part of the UEFA Youth League team that made the Final Four of this season's competition. Anyone who wants to follow the everyday life of our Young Bulls in Europe's biggest youth competition can watch the Class of 2025 video series - the last episode of which went online yesterday.
