Tottenham Hotspur have announced they have appointed new coach Bri Campos to Robert Vilahamn’s setup, subject to work permit approval.
This appointment comes during a period of change for Spurs’ coaching staff. Whilst Campos joins, Anton Blackwood will be leaving his role of First Team Transitional Coach to pursue a new challenge.
Campos will take on the role of Women’s First Team Coach and will work alongside both Vicky Jepson and Chris Williams. Vilahamn and Campos have experience working together, as Campos was previously part of the backroom staff at BK Häcken. During this season, they finished second in the Damallsvenskan and were runners-up in the Swedish Cup final. The duo will hope to replicate similar results in the Women’s Super League.
Campos was a midfielder in her playing days and ended her club career whilst playing in Sweden for Vittsjö GIK. She also represented Mexico at the international level.
When asked about her arrival in the capital, she said: “I’m really excited to be here and be part of this project, there’s a lot of long-term goals which makes it exciting to be a part of. The team is coming from a very good campaign last term and I want to help as much as possible to build from that, it’s a good project to help develop players and help continue the progress of the Club.”
Tottenham Hotspur will return to action on Sunday, when they take on Everton in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Spurs will then host their first WSL of the year when they welcome Leicester City to Brisbane Road. Vilahamn’s side ended 2024 sitting sixth in the table with 11 points on the board.
