A last-minute Callum Wilson winner bagged West Ham a 2-1 win at London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to pile further pressure on Thomas Frank.

Crysencio Summerville’s deflected shot put the visitors – chasing a first Premier League victory since early November – in front, before Cristian Romero levelled.

But substitute Wilson delivered a brutal blow in the dying moments, stunning the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, to spark life into his side’s survival bid while Spurs remain 14th.

As It Happened

New Hammers striker Taty Castellanos, seeking a second in consecutive matches, was first to trouble the home side’s defense, hooking a shot on the turn just wide of goal.

West Ham found the breakthrough moments later, a quarter of an hour gone – tidy play shifted the ball to Summerville, who skipped past half-a-dozen lazy challenges and fired the effort in off of Micky van de Ven.

Ben Davies was unfortunately stretchered off the pitch following a clash with Jarrod Bowen in the lead-up to the visitors’ opener, causing a lengthy delay.

Spurs were in disbelief they didn’t level the match in the 24th minute, with winger Wilson Odobert heading straight at Alphonse Areola, who then denied Djed Spence’s follow-up.

West Ham were dangerous every time they ventured forward, as Castellanos somehow failed to divert his header into an empty net after a corner found its way to the Argentine.

Guglielmo Vicario was called into action five minutes before first half stoppage-time, clawing a Konstantinos Mavropanos header away at full stretch following a free-kick.

Despite ongoing protests against the ownership, the West Ham supporters had plenty to cheer about after an action-packed first half.

Frank’s men, on the other hand, were met with an encore of boos as they exited the pitch.

Spurs brought plenty more intent to the opening exchanges of the second half, with both Spence and half-time substitute Yves Bissouma, making his first appearance under Frank, having speculative long-range shots.

Van de Ven saved Spurs’ blushes on the hour mark, using his infamous pace to slide in seemingly out of nowhere and deny Summerville a second of the afternoon.

The pressure since the break eventually paid off in the 64th minute, as skipper Romero found himself in the penalty area to meet a Pedro Porro delivery and headed home emphatically.

It was still one-way traffic as Xavi Simons struck the Lilywhite’s best effort to find a winner, hitting a half-volley through a crowd of bodies before Areola palmed away.

Up stepped veteran striker Wilson in the 93rd minute to tap home a mess of a corner from a Spurs perspective and steal a crucial three points in West Ham’s relegation battle.

The Irons hauled themselves four points from safety ahead of another significant match for Nuno Espirito Santo at the London Stadium against Sunderland, next weekend.

Tottenham face Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming midweek Champions League action, now winless in their last five games and Thomas Frank’s future looking even more precarious.
