In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Leicester City starlet Jeremy Monga. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to rival Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to land the English youngster next year.

Monga’s Impressive Rise In English Football

Monga has caught the eye with his performances on the left side of Leicester’s attack this season as he has put in a run of impressive displays in the final third. The 16-year-old has found the back of the net once and earned one assist in 13 appearances for the Foxes in this campaign across all competitions.

The English talent has caught the eye at times in the opponent’s half and deserves some credit for averaging 0.85 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 40% of his attempts on target. Monga has distributed the ball accurately from the wide areas based on his pass completion rate of 76.4% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).

Monga is currently among the best young wingers in English football. Therefore, it is no surprise that Spurs are among the clubs hoping to land him next year.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Keeping Tabs On Monga: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Monga is proficient at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The English sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. Monga is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also function as a right-winger or play in the number ten position if required. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham.

Monga would no doubt enhance the quality of Spurs boss Thomas Frank’s frontline in the long run. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming years.

At 16, Monga has got the potential to be a future star in English football. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Spurs would be wise to get him on board in 2026.
