Yorath played under Don Revie from 1967 to 1976, winning the First Division in 1974. He also reached the finals of the FA Cup, European Cup and Cup Winners’ Cup, becoming the first Welshman to play in a European Cup final.

After leaving Elland Road he had spells with Coventry City, Tottenham Hotspur and Vancouver Whitecaps. The Wales international won 59 caps for his country.

His children described him as a quiet, kind and gentle man, saying their hearts are broken and that they take comfort in the belief he will be reunited with their brother, Daniel. He leaves three children, Gabby Logan, Louise and Jordan.

The news appears to have reached the family on Wednesday evening, with Gabby taken off air during a live BBC Match of the Day broadcast. Huddersfield Town, where Yorath served as assistant manager, and the Football Association of Wales also shared condolences. Match of the Day posted a tribute on X, noting his passing at 75 and sending sympathy to the family, including Gabby Logan.
