Lyon beat Go Ahead Eagles 2-1, with Tyler Morton and Afonso Moreira influential, and tightened their grip on first place in the Europa League league phase.

L'Équipe highlighted the pair's influence in a controlled display. Moreira struck in the third minute from Morton's pass to give OL the ideal start.

Milan Smit levelled in the sixth minute. Pavel Sulc restored the advantage in the 11th minute after Ainsley Maitland-Niles' shot was parried by Jari De Busser.

Martin Satriano hit the left post in the 22nd minute and worked tirelessly, but offered limited penalty-box threat, then made way for Abner in the 86th minute.

De Busser was involved in both goals conceded, although he denied Morton in the 87th minute, and Corentin Tolisso later rattled the bar in the 89th minute.

Moussa Niakhaté dominated aerially and read the game well, then saw a late break end with Joris Kramer heading his shot off the line in the 90+1 minute.

Maitland-Niles responded to his recent red card at Lorient by shutting down his flank and carrying a threat, his effort paving the way for Sulc's winner.
