Ueda double keeps Feyenoord second | OneFootball

Feyenoord beat Groningen 3-1 at Stadion Feijenoord as Ayase Ueda struck twice to keep Robin van Persie's side second in the Eredivisie.

Jordan Bos opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a fierce strike from outside the box after Luciano Valente's pass. Moments later he was fouled by Etienne Vaessen, and Ueda converted from the spot (22.).

Before the break, Timon Wellenreuther parried a Younes Taha drive as the visitors pushed to respond.

After the restart, Ueda added a third with a low finish from range after Oussama Targhalline's lay-off (67.). Thom van Bergen pulled one back late from close range after Dies Janse's pass (86.).

Feyenoord crafted 10 attempts, hitting the target four times. Groningen saw more of the ball at 52.4% but registered only two shots on target.

Ueda is now on 25 league goals, leading the Eredivisie scoring chart.
