Valencia said in a statement that Alberto Marí underwent successful surgery in Valencia on Friday 20 March for a left biceps femoris injury sustained with CD Mirandés, and will remain in hospital for monitoring.

The setback compounds an adverse end to the season for the loanee, individually and collectively, and leaves the forward facing a recovery period at a pivotal moment in the campaign.
