Valencia are considering formal approach for Al Ahly midfielder Aliou Dieng as they look to reinforce their squad before the winter transfer window shuts.

According to Radioesport914, the Spanish club are monitoring the situation of the Mali international whose contract with Al Ahly runs until the end of the current season.

The report states that Dieng is among several midfield profiles being evaluated by Valencia’s sporting department as the club explores market opportunities.

The 28 year old has yet to agree on contract extension with the Egyptian champions despite prolonged negotiations in recent months.

Al Ahly officials have been pushing to secure his future but the midfielder has so far declined to commit opening the door to potential interest from abroad.

Valencia said to be assessing multiple options rather than focusing solely on one target ,, with Dieng’s experience & physical presence in midfield making him candidate under consideration.

Any potential move would likely depend on financial conditions and the player’s willingness to make the switch before deadline.

Previous reports in Egypt linked Dieng with possible move to Girona as replacement for injured Azzedine Ounahi. However Girona’s sporting director later dismissed those claims publicly denying any interest in the Al Ahly midfielder.

Dieng joined Al Ahly in the summer of 2019 from MC Alger and has since established himself as a key figure in the squad.

Last season, he spent time on loan at Saudi club Al Kholood gaining additional experience outside Egypt.
