Valencia have entered the final stretch of the window without outgoing deals or free senior slots, so focus has turned to an under-23 recruit registered with Valencia Mestalla, with Buba Sangaré back on the table, according to Superdeporte.
There are no spots left after the arrivals of Umar Sadir, contracted until June 2028, and Unai Núñez and Guido Rodríguez until 30 June. Potential exits look unlikely, with Dani Raba and Baptiste Santamaría preferring to wait for summer, and Eray Cömert free to negotiate since one January with five months left.
The plan had been to add an experienced winger or centre-back if a departure created space. Several targets remain, including centre-back Justin de Haas, lined up for the summer, though chances are slim with Famalicão holding firm and now seeking illogical sums for a player free from July.
With four days remaining before the deadline, the under-23 route broadens the positions Valencia could cover. One deal that fits is Sangaré, the Spanish full-back of Malian origin who left Levante for Roma in June 2024.
Valencia were closest last summer, but Roma resisted. Weeks ago they revisited a loan with a reduced purchase option and, in recent hours, tried again to activate it. The aim is a price that could enable a permanent in a few months, yet Roma are unwilling to lose control, so the path remains complicated.
Sangaré has not yet debuted for Roma’s first team, though his Primavera form is improved and consistent. He offers versatility, comfortable as a centre-back in a back three and as a wide midfielder on either flank.
