According to Globo.com, Fernando Diniz, Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Piton were deemed the poorest performers as Vasco lost 0-1 to Bahia at São Januário in the third round of the 2026 Brasileirão.
Juba scored the winner, and the goal exposed a disorganised defence, with nine players deep and nobody positioned to hinder the finish. Diniz again failed to turn home support into an advantage and departed to heavy abuse from the stands.
Andrés Gómez was comfortably Vasco’s most threatening forward, repeatedly troubling Román Gómez down the left. He almost created the equaliser with a fine cross that Nuno Moreira headed over.
Coutinho looked off the pace and missed the clearest first-half chance from inside the box, then scarcely featured after the break.
Brenner struggled to convert and wasted openings, while Spinelli’s debut brought plenty of fight but no clear sight of goal. Marino Hinestroza replaced Nuno on the right without shifting the attack.
On the flanks, Puma Rodríguez overdid the crosses and later moved to left-back after Piton, short of confidence, was withdrawn to loud jeers. Léo Jardim was rarely tested and bore no blame for Juba’s strike.
In midfield, Thiago Mendes was steady despite simple errors. Barros toiled against Everton Ribeiro and risked a red card after catching Caio Alexandre in the face, while Robert Renan was generally sound, though early duels with Willian José caused issues.
Late on, GB came in and erred in several moves, including delaying and misplacing a pass to Puma in what was virtually the final action.
