Vasco are holding firm over the sale of Rayan despite Bournemouth’s move, with the Premier League club awaiting a decision this week.
According to Globo.com, Bournemouth have an agreement with the youngster and a package worth about €35m including bonuses, which would be the biggest sale in the club’s history, but Vasco remain reluctant to sell their standout player.
The offer includes appearance-related triggers, such as 50% of games if Bournemouth stay in the top flight or qualify for Europe, plus extra payments at milestones, for example every 15 or 20 matches.
Rayan is viewed as the ideal replacement for Semenyo, who joined Manchester City this window. Bournemouth aim to settle terms this week or could pivot to a plan B before the 31 January deadline.
Rayan and his representatives favour the move and hope the club see the opportunity. Vasco want a higher bid, possibly from another English side, and are urging patience, with coach Fernando Diniz speaking directly with the player.
Recent renewals included an understanding that the player’s cut could reach up to 30%, depending on the final fee. If a sale happens now, Vasco want more fixed money, would accept €35m guaranteed, and seek simpler add-ons, while increasing the club’s percentage.
With sell-on stakes barred in England, Vasco also want a contractual share of any future capital gain on a resale, for instance profit above an initial €35m, and the player could give up part of his entitlement.
