Villarreal keep David Albelda until 2027 as Villarreal B head coach | OneFootball

Villarreal have extended David Albelda’s contract until 2027, keeping him in charge of Villarreal B next season. The club announced the renewal, highlighting its commitment to stability and academy growth.

The extension recognises his work across the campaign. Under Albelda, the B team finished fourth in the regular season in Primera Federación and earned a play-off place for promotion to Segunda División.

Although promotion hopes ended against Zamora CF, the side impressed and fought to the last. The club views continuity for the former international as central to consolidating a competitive project while prioritising player development for the first team.

Villarreal have also retained two other pillars of the Cantera Grogueta. David Cifuentes, known as “Cifu”, will continue to lead Villarreal C after a strong year in Tercera Federación.
