Vini Jr says Brazil number 10 shirt is Neymar’s | OneFootball

Vini Jr has made clear the Brazil number 10 shirt belongs to Neymar at the next World Cup.

“I do not know my number, but the 10 is Neymar’s. That is obvious,” he told Casimiro Miguel.

The Real Madrid forward has not been informed which shirt he will use. He wore number 20 at the last World Cup.

While Neymar was absent from the Seleção, Vini Jr took the 10 shirt, including in the most recent friendly against Croatia in March. With the Santos forward back, the Flamengo academy graduate has deferred to the hierarchy.

Shirt allocations for Flamengo’s Brazil call-ups also remain unclear. Based on the last World Cup, Danilo would take number two and Alex Sandro likely number six. Lucas Paquetá wore number seven then, a number that should be Vini Jr’s in 2026, while Léo Pereira has never played the tournament but took 15 in recent friendlies.

With Vini Jr watching on, Alex Sandro, Danilo, Léo Pereira and Lucas Paquetá will play for Flamengo on Tuesday 26 against Cusco of Peru in the Copa Libertadores at the Maracanã. After the match, they will report to the national team to begin World Cup preparations.
