Vitor Roque struck a first-half brace as Palmeiras beat Capivariano at Arena Barueri, sealing progression in the Paulistão. The forward was the standout performer in a controlled quarter-final win.

According to Globo.com, goalkeeper Carlos Miguel made two important saves before Piquerez influenced both early goals. The left-back released Flaco López to cross for Roque’s opener, then kept the ball in play to sustain the move for the striker’s second.

Khellven endured some early problems in possession but settled, later drawing a fine stop with a drive at the start of the second half. At centre-back, Gustavo Gómez was sharp in the duels and Murilo offered a steady presence.

In midfield, Marlon Freitas impressed most, keeping play moving and breaking up attacks. Andreas Pereira handled set pieces throughout.

Felipe Anderson’s late introduction teed up John Arias, who cut inside and was fouled for the spot-kick. The Colombian debutant came on in the 32nd minute of the second half and was warmly received. Andreas Pereira converted the penalty for Palmeiras’ third.

Ramón Sosa later added the final goal. Flaco López was lively across the frontline, while Allan contributed out of possession and Maurício struggled to create. Head coach Abel Ferreira’s substitutions, including Anderson, Arias and Sosa, proved important to the result.
