The Foxes got off the mark in the Barclays Women’s Super League last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at The King Power Stadium.
Reflecting on that result in the pre-match press conference, Leicester City’s interim boss Passmoor insisted that one win doesn’t define a season.
“It doesn’t define the season,” Passmoor said. “It’s a learning process but ultimately, it’s always good to get them three points.
“What we’ve spoken about is having that extra fan power which I heard throughout the 90 minutes. All credit to them for getting us over the line last week.
“This week has been about returning and reinforcing processes and developing a particular style of play, that will take time.”
Going on to discuss this afternoon’s opponents Chelsea, Passmoor identified the South West Londoners’ qualities but issued a reminder that every game is tough in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
He said “We’re confident. It doesn’t define us at this early stage. We know that we are playing against a world-class team, not only the starting XI but on the bench.
“We will have respect and we will go there with a game plan. We know that every player needs to be focused for the full game.
“When you look across the WSL, there’s no easy game any more. When the WSL first evolved back in 2011, there were games where you could rest or change; you can’t do that now in any of the fixtures. As a player or manager at a club, it’s exciting.”
Passmoor has been in his interim role for the last two-and-a-half weeks and he admits that he’s happy to continue for as long as he’s needed.
He said “I’m looking after the club on an interim basis until they say ‘move over old chap’. I’m going to make sure that these players enjoy every moment of Leicester City and they learn and build.
“I enjoy travelling in and being at this football club. Until the directors or the board say ‘change’, I’m going to give it 100-percent.”
Leicester City’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Chelsea kicks-off at 12pm this afternoon.
