West Brom will return to training on 25 June, stepping up preparations for the new Championship season.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the date coincides with the EFL fixture release, with James Morrison beginning his first season as head coach.
Morrison, appointed in February on an interim basis, oversaw an impressive escape from relegation last season and wants to push higher up the table. Recruitment has been quiet so far, though the window opens on Monday and could prompt early moves.
He has stayed in close contact with director of football operations Ian Pearce and technical director Dominic Price. This is the first window since the 2024 Bilkul takeover not driven by cutting inherited losses. Albion remain mindful of PSR, yet do not need to sell before buying.
Contract talks continue. Goalkeeper Max O’Leary has agreed a new deal, discussions are ongoing with Karlan Grant, and the club await Josh Maja’s decision on the terms offered.
Morrison also plans to finalise his coaching team. Assistant Matt Gill impressed on a short-term deal and the club would like to keep him.
Further pre-season fixtures are to be confirmed. A behind-closed-doors match with Sheffield Wednesday at St George’s Park is set for 11 July, and Albion visit Peterborough on the first of August.
