FLW takes a look at the latest transfer chatter surrounding the Black Country outfit
West Bromwich Albion’s summer rebuild looks to be gathering pace.
After a nervy 25/26 Championship campaign that saw the Baggies finish 21st, just four points clear of the drop, supporters will surely be hoping the club’s activity in the coming weeks matches the urgency of that final table position.
Head coach James Morrison has already insisted he is "the best man for the job," so the upcoming transfer window will be his first real chance to prove it.
With this in mind, FLW takes a look at the latest transfer chatter surrounding the Black Country outfit.

According to the Daily Record, Falkirk have rejected a seven-figure bid from West Brom for Barney Stewart, with the Scottish side holding firm despite serious interest from The Hawthorns.
The report adds that Albion have already made "multiple offers" for the 22-year-old, and that their latest attempt has still fallen short of Falkirk’s valuation.
Alongside this, Football Insider then revealed Lincoln City and Oxford United have also had bids rejected for Stewart - who are, of course, two of Albion's league rivals for next season.
Across the whole of the 25/26 season, Stewart scored 18 goals in 33 matches. This includes eight goals in 12 games whilst on loan at Dunfermline, before returning to Falkirk to bag ten goals in 21 appearances.
Especially after a certain someone is leaving, which will be detailed below, this reported interest makes perfect sense.

West Brom have confirmed that Jed Wallace and Daryl Dike will both leave The Hawthorns this summer, alongside goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith.
The news that Dike is leaving makes the above reported interest in Barney Stewart all the more welcome to fans.
Whilst Wildsmith will be departing with only 20 games to his name since arriving in 2024, the club paid a little tribute to Wallace and Dike.
Their retained list described Wallace as “exemplary in his conduct as captain” and said Dike “remained a popular figure around the club and with its supporters owing to his positive attitude in the face of adversity.”

As for their Baggies’ stats, Wallace departs after 150 appearances, 16 goals and 16 assists for the club, while Dike leaves having scored 11 goals in 68 games across all competitions.
There are also ten academy departures listed, and, obviously, the first-team loan exits, which include Charlie Taylor, Danny Imray, Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba and Hindolo Mustapha.

Another name linked with West Brom is Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Svante Ingelsson, although Stoke City are now being described as the favourites to land him, via The Star.
Portsmouth and Millwall, two more Championship teams, had apparent bids rejected in January, so just like Falkirk’s Stewart, the competition for the 27-year-old remains strong.
Ingelsson’s situation is especially interesting because Sheffield Wednesday have already triggered a 12-month contract option, which gives them some power despite said outside interest.
Even so, with several clubs circling and Stoke now emerging strongly, West Brom may have to act decisively if they actually want to sign the Swede.
Since signing for Wednesday on a free transfer from Hansa Rostock in 2024, Ingelsson has played 79 times for the Owls, and started 39 league games this past season.
