James Morrison has been keeping tabs on Tammer Bany and wants the Albion attacker to feel the love as he returns to training after thigh surgery that has sidelined him since late December.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Bany, 22, has had a difficult first year after a £3.3 million move from Randers in Denmark, with only five substitute appearances in 13 months and just one this season. He declared for Jordan, who qualified for this summer’s World Cup, and has played more for them than for Albion this term.
His only club minutes this season came in stoppage time at QPR on December 6, a 3-1 defeat for Ryan Mason’s side.
“Tammer's very keen,” Morrison said. “I think for him he just wants to get back onto the pitch and show what he can do. He's had a difficult period, so I've had a couple of chats with him. I think he's a day-to-day one, see how he is in training and then we'll go from there.”
Bany will not feature at Blackburn on Monday, and it remains unclear whether he will be in contention for next Friday’s visit of high-flying Millwall.
Morrison said the No.26 could still contribute this season, and staff are keeping close so he feels supported. The midfielder could also be Albion’s sole representative at the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer, and, if fit, is expected to receive a Jordan call-up.
