West Ham United left-back Emerson Palmieri has transfer interest from Italy, with Lazio reportedly eyeing a move to sign him this summer.

The Hammers left-back, who earns £95,000 per week, previously worked with Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea and would slot in seamlessly into his style of football.

The 30-year-old defender has been a faithful servant to West Ham since he arrived in 2022. Former boss David Moyes hailed him as a player who ‘brings a winning mentality‘.

Palmieri has made over 100 appearances for the club, including the night West Ham lifted the Europa Conference League title.

However, the time for West Ham to part ways with Palmieri and refresh the left-back position might be now, especially if Lazio can match the asking price.

His blend of work rate, technical quality and athleticism makes him an ideal fit for the progressive full-back role under manager Graham Potter.

Affordable, Premier League-proven, and with ample room for improvement, Davis could be the long-term answer at left-back that West Ham need if Palmieri moves on.
