Leicester City Football Club are expected to attempt to make signings in the New Year. If the Foxes do not spend any significant money - they'll be dancing with the Championship devil. Sending unnecessary loan addition Odsonne Edouard back to Crystal Palace is also advisable. If the Frenchman does return to Selhurst Park, a destination which his parent club manager also confirmed the striker is unwanted, LCFC can arrange for another temporary Fox.
Though, if that scenario comes to fruition, a new loanee wouldn't come from Brighton & Hove Albion. That's because Seagull Facundo Buonanotte is already at King Power Stadium. And the Argentine is certainly worth keeping. Preferably, he'd permanently sign for the Leicestershire outfit. The correct general acquisitions are requisite for avoiding relegation.
Defenders are needed as I see it, especially centre backs. Another winger or a forward would be good too. The east Midlands team are inundated with central midfielders; defensive-minded players in the middle are particularly abundant and not required. Therefore any current transfer links to DCMs are a bit of a no go if you ask me. Leicester even have quite a few creative midfielder men as well, in Bilal El Khannouss and the aforementioned Buonanotte in particular.
Connections to Manchester United prospect Toby Collyer are flattering. Assumptions that he's on his way are arguably unfounded. It is said that he may be coming to Leicester, and I wouldn't put it past Foxes recruitment to make a mistake. If anything is afoot, surely City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is involved and pulling his Old Trafford strings. But is Collyer needed?
I'd assert that general speculation is likely valid; van Nistelrooy could easily help a transaction like this to transpire. In that case, maybe LCFC are perhaps angling to sell or loan players like Hamza Choudhury or Oliver Skipp. However, Wilfred Ndidi, Harry Winks and Boubakary Soumare shouldn't be going anywhere. So Collyer chat feels unrealistic:
