Wilton Pereira to referee São Paulo v Flamengo in Brasileirão opener

Wilton Pereira Sampaio will referee São Paulo v Flamengo at Morumbi on Wednesday, 28, in the opening round of the Brasileirão.

The CBF announced the full list of appointments on Monday.

His most recent Flamengo assignment was in October last year, when he oversaw a 3-2 league win against Palmeiras. The defeated side complained about the officiating.

Palmeiras argued a penalty awarded to Flamengo should not have been given. They also claimed Jorginho pushed Gustavo Gómez in the box and play was allowed to continue.

Kick-off is at 21:30, Brasília time, as Flamengo begin their campaign in search of a 10th national crown. The Rio club are likely to be near full strength, with the probable season debuts of Arrascaeta and Jorginho.

Rafael Klein has been appointed to referee the Supercopa do Brasil between Flamengo and Corinthians on Sunday at 16:00, at Estádio Mané Garrincha in the federal capital.
