Manchester City begin our pursuit of a fifth title in six seasons with a trip to Wolves on Saturday 16 August, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30 (UK).

It is of course one fixture in a packed weekend of football and FPL manager will be aiming to maximise their points return during matchday one.

With that in mind, read the latest scout report below ahead of Friday 15 August’s 18:30 (UK) deadline.

CITY STAR

Tijjani Reijnders (£5.5m) could prove a very handy differential for managers in Gameweek 1 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

The midfielder arrived from AC Milan ahead of the Club World Cup and has played 70% of City’s minutes since then.

The Dutchman scored two goals against Palermo, with both coming from his trademark late runs into the box. In 45 minutes, the midfielder registered four shots.

Reijnders had 77 shots last season, ranking in the top 10 players in Serie A. He also scored 10 goals and broke the defensive line with a pass, more times than any other player in Serie A.

ONE TO WATCH

Jorgen Stand Larsen (£6.5m) made his loan move to Wolves permanent this summer. The forward scored 14 goals in 30 starts last season.

DIFFERENTIALS

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace’s Jean Philippe-Mateta (£6.5m) and Spurs’ Pape Sarr (£5.0m) are low-owned gems who have good potential in Gameweek 1.

Mateta scored both his penalties in the Community Shield victory over Liverpool. The forward registered 16 attacking returns, from 14 goals and two assists, last season.

Meanwhile, Pape Sarr has scored more goals than any other Spurs player in pre-season. The midfielder could start in the creative number 10 position in the absence of James Maddison (£7.0m) and Dejan Kulusevski (£6.5m) through injuries.
