Tottenham are managing the fitness of several key players, including talented young midfielder Lucas Bergvall.
With a league match against Ipswich Town approaching in the weekend, Bergvall’s fitness remains a concern despite his recent match appearance.
Injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar provided insights on Bergvall’s current state. While the Swedish midfielder played over 60 minutes in Tottenham’s midweek 3-2 Europa League defeat to Galatasaray, Dr. Brar noted that Bergvall is not yet at full match fitness.
He explained that while it’s encouraging to see Bergvall play longer stretches, it’s doubtful he is ready to handle a full 90-minute match.
This assessment matches Bergvall’s recent game history; in October, he appeared in just two matches and did not complete either one.
Speaking to Tottenham News, Dr. Brar said:
“He won’t truly be at 100% until he is able to play some matches and build up fitness.
“He did play over an hour in mid-week so that was a positive but I’m still not convinced he can play the full 90 minutes just yet.
“In October, for instance, he played just two games and did not play 90 minutes on either occasion.“

Spurs are currently going through a potential injury crisis with several players out injured.
Micky van de Ven picked up an injury during the League Cup win against Manchester City recently, keeping him out of action for a month.
Cristian Romero also picked up a toe injury during their win against Aston Villa that saw him miss the Europa League clash vs Galatasaray. He remains a doubt for the game this weekend as well.
Richarlison also picked up a significant injury against Aston Villa, with the Brazilian seeing a long time on the sidelines. Meanwhile, Timo Werner and Mikey Moore also remain doubts for the game this weekend.
With Wilson Odobert already out injured, Spurs’ attack has suddenly got quite depleted ahead of their two games before the international break.
Their defence has also weakened with injuries to MVDV and Romero, however, Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies are expected to hold the fort during their absence.
