Orlando Gill is one of the big surprises of the World Cup—and could be available for relatively little money. Now the goalkeeper is once again being linked to FC Bayern.
FC Bayern continues to monitor the international goalkeeper market very closely. Although the pecking order for the upcoming season is actually clearly established with Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig, and Sven Ulreich, the name Orlando Gill is once again surfacing in connection with the record champions.
As transfer expert Ekrem Konur reports, FC Bayern is among the clubs that have their eye on the Paraguayan national team goalkeeper from San Lorenzo. According to the report, Manchester United and Olympiacos are also interested in the 25-year-old.
Of particular interest: According to Konur, Gill has a buyout clause of seven million U.S. dollars. Converted, that currently amounts to around six million euros—a sum that would be quite manageable for a national team goalkeeper with strong potential for development.
Gill firmly established himself in the spotlight during the World Cup. Especially in the Round of 32 match against Germany, the 1.98-meter-tall goalkeeper became one of Paraguay’s match-winners with several strong saves—particularly during the penalty shootout.
His rise has been meteoric. Just a few years ago, Gill was hardly known even in his home country. It wasn’t until early 2025 that he established himself as the starting goalkeeper for San Lorenzo, and shortly thereafter he also became the number one goalkeeper for the Paraguayan national team.

Whether FC Bayern will actually step up its efforts, however, remains to be seen. With Neuer as the number one and Jonas Urbig as the designated successor, there is currently no urgent need for action between the posts. Nevertheless, given his age, his potential for development, and his comparatively low buyout clause, Gill certainly fits the Munich club’s long-term requirements. Bayern may face competition from England and Greece, however, as Manchester United and Olympiacos are also reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation.
