Fans travelling for Wrexham v Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup have been urged to take extra care amid wintry conditions, with the third-round tie still scheduled for 7.30pm at the Racecourse Ground tonight.
The club said in a statement that the match will proceed, and advised supporters to allow extra travel time, monitor Met Office warnings and check local updates before setting off.
Wrexham was under an amber snow warning on Thursday night. Only a modest fall reached the city centre, which later turned to rain, and most roads are currently clear.
Storm Goretti brought a mix of snow and rain to north Wales on Thursday evening. More than 40 schools in Wrexham county borough were closed on Friday.
A yellow ice warning remains in place, covering Wrexham, Nottingham and areas in between, until midday on Saturday. It cautions that partially thawed snow on Friday could refreeze overnight, creating a widespread ice risk.
Phil Parkinson has spoken of his excitement at welcoming Forest. The clubs have not met since 1993, when Wrexham lost 3-1 in the second leg of a second-round League Cup tie.
Parkinson's side sit ninth in the Championship, one point off the play-offs after four straight wins over the festive period. Forest have spent much of the season near the foot of the Premier League, but Tuesday's 2-1 win against West Ham moved them seven points above the drop zone.
