Xabi Alonso has brought a multitude of changes to Real Madrid, not only on the sporting aspect of the club but also in terms of how the dressing room and players are managed.

A part of his philosophy is clear and transparent communication to players about their role in the team, what he expects of them and any changes from what they have delivered in previous seasons.

Special conversations

Xabi Alonso has had several special individual discussions with the likes of Dani Ceballos, Rodrygo Goes, Gonzalo Garcia, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham will be the next, reports Defensa Central.

The manager wishes to have a detailed talk with the England international who will return from his injury only in late October, for he wishes to convey to him that he wants the player to operate in a different position this season.

The aim of the meeting will be to make clear to Bellingham the exact role he will play in the current project and how he should be closer to his Borussia Dortmund game-controlling version than the goalscoring adaptation he turned into under Carlo Ancelotti.

Furthermore, the manager hopes to convey that he expects a lot more from the player than what he showed in the FIFA Club World Cup, especially considering he will no longer be plagued by his shoulder injury once he is back.

With the likes of Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono taking over the playmaking aspect of the game and providing goalscoring threats, Bellingham might operate deeper under Alonso and will thus be tasked with controlling the game.
