Yan Diomande has clarified comments that Liverpool are his 'dream club' as speculation continues to surround the RB Leipzig winger.

Liverpool are one of several top teams understood to be tracking the teenager, who has been one of the Bundesliga's breakout talents of the 2025-26 campaign. Diomande has scored seven goals and added four assists in just 15 league starts for Leipzig this season.

The data also underlines his impact. Across Europe's top five leagues, the Ivorian ranks in the top 15% of wingers for progressive carries, successful dribbles, non-penalty goals and chances created.

He has been named as a potential option for Liverpool, who are assessing wingers ahead of the summer window.

Recent reports suggested that Diomande had named thePremier League champions as his dream club but the 19-year-old has moved to clarify previous comments.

“People made it out to be my dream club. But first and foremost, it’s my dad’s favourite club. It was always his great wish to see me there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield," Diomande toldBILD.

"He always raved about Steven Gerrard. I was too young to see him play. We didn’t even have a TV at home for a long time. I have a lot of respect for Liverpool, but my dream club right now is Leipzig.”

Bayern Munich have also been named as suitors for the Ivorian, though Diomande reiterated that his full focus is on success with Leipzig. He admitted it's a compliment to hear of interest from the German champions but said there has been no contact with Bayern.

"It's always nice to hear something like that. But I haven't spoken to anyone from Bayern," he confirmed when asked about the rumoured interest.

"It's not the right time for that. I'm happy here in Leipzig and want to remain fully focused."
