Freiburg appear close to signing Yannik Engelhardt as they continue to strengthen for the 2026-27 Bundesliga season.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal is already done, with the 25-year-old to move from Lombardy to Breisgau.

This follows reports of an initial bid to Como 1907. The transfer would bring the defensive midfielder back to Germany’s top flight.
Club Brugge also pursued Engelhardt. Their €10 million proposal recently topped Freiburg’s €8 million, yet the Bundesliga side now seem to have won out.
Engelhardt spent last season on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
