Departing Atlético Madrid star Álvaro Morata has moved to hit back at a critical member of the club’s fanbase.

As much comes owing to a post on social media, surrounding Morata’s behaviour whilst celebrating Spain’s Euro 2024 title.

Frontman Morata is of course fresh off captaining his country to glory on the international stage.

After battling their way to a European Championship finale showdown with England, goals on the part of Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal proved enough to guide La Roja to the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

Amid the celebrations back in Spain on Monday, Morata, in turn, was spotted posing with an Atlético Madrid flag.

Ahead of the 31-year-old’s imminent move to AC Milan, as much did not go down at all well with some of an Atléti persuasion, with one user on Instagram (as cited by Relevo) having commented:

‘A lot of Atleti flags, but he’s going to Milan.’

Morata, upon stumbling upon the post in question, then sniped back, writing:

‘Now I can’t leave and after Dortmund you all wanted to kick me out.’

After again being questioned by the supporter in question, Spain’s captain concluded:

‘I won the Euro Cup as an Atlético player’

Morata has evidently had enough of the constant ridicule surrounding his name, and in truth, it is hard to blame the former Chelsea and Juventus man.
