Zakaria Labyad has been added to the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário, making his registration with Corinthians official on Friday night, according to Meu Timao.

He has been training at CT Joaquim Grava while awaiting a work visa to be available to Dorival Júnior. The midfielder has not played since 22 November, when he turned out for Dalian Yingbo in China, so a debut could still be a few games away.

Labyad has attended Corinthians’ last two matches at Neo Química Arena. He will be reunited with forward Memphis Depay, a former team-mate at PSV Eindhoven. He was not a player specifically requested by Dorival Júnior.

Player and club are racing to register him for the Campeonato Paulista. The deadline for the four permitted changes to the original squad list for the knockouts falls on Friday.

Corinthians have already added five other reinforcements in this window, which closes in March. Gabriel Paulista, Pedro Milans, Matheus Pereira, Allan and Kaio César have been announced, and left-back Fabrizio Angileri extended his deal in February.

Timão are back in action on Sunday at 20:30, away to Portuguesa at Canindé. It is a one-off Paulista quarter-final.
