Fluminense have been handed a timely boost for the Carioca final against Flamengo, with Zubeldía cleared to return to the touchline.

According to Coluna Do Fla, a hearing on Wednesday handed the coach the minimum one-match suspension, already served in the semi-final second leg against Vasco, so he is eligible for the final.

The case related to his conduct towards referee Jodis Nascimento de Souza, who said he felt offended after sending the coach off.

Before the showpiece, Fluminense announced the signings of forward Rodrigo Castillo and centre-back Julián Milán, but neither will be available as they have not been registered.

Flamengo arrive under heavy scrutiny after losing two finals at the start of the season, with internal pressure leading to the dismissal of Filipe Luís.

For the decider, the expectation is that Leonardo Jardim will be the new head coach.

The match is at the Maracanã on Sunday, kicking off at 18:00 Brasília time.
