The recent game against RCD Mallorca was one that FC Barcelona simply had to win. As the opening game of La Liga, three crucial points were at stake. Fortunately, Hansi Flick’s side did end up taking the win by the end of the game.
However, things were far from straightforward and got frustrating as the match went on. While Barça scored twice early, Mallorca conceded two red cards that forced them to switch to a much more pragmatic approach, which, consequently, ended up sucking Barça into that slow game of theirs as well.

Still, one player who continued to play on his own terms, as per SPORT, was Lamine Yamal. The 18-year-old Barça winger was only looking to make a difference through his own brilliance, and it definitely ended up paying off in this game.
During the first half, it was thanks to him that the Catalan giants ended up opening the scoring. He whipped in a beautiful cross that was met with a header from Raphinha early on, and that is how Barça got their first goal.
Then, for the second goal, it was actually Yamal’s initial attempt that was cleared by a Mallorca defender, who then went to ground after doing so. However, the referee did not stop play, so Ferran Torres attempted a shot from distance that nestled into the back of the net, giving Barça their second goal.
Lastly, for the final and third goal of the game, Yamal really put on a show. After having an altercation of sorts with another opposition player just a few minutes prior to that goal, the Barça number ‘10’ directed that frustration towards the game itself and danced his way through several Mallorca players before firing a blitzing shot into the top corner of Leo Roman’s goal.
While the opposition goalkeeper had managed to keep Yamal at bay for much of the game, the brilliant winger finally managed to get the better of him. When it came to that shot, there was simply nothing that could be done about it due to both power and placement.
