Youngster Huijsen was for his part in from the off once more yesterday, as Spain locked horns with Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifying clash.

When all was said and done, Luis de la Fuente’s troops emerged on the right side of a dominant 3-0 result.

And playing a leading role in as much was the aforementioned Dean Huijsen.

From his berth at the heart of La Roja’s backline, the 20-year-old shone on both sides of the ball, continuing to make a case for himself as the standout up-and-coming defender in world football.

And such endeavours have since given rise to a head-turning round of statistics.

As per Sofascore, Huijsen was responsible for the following vs Bulgaria:

  • 116 touches
  • 97/103 accurate passes (94%)
  • 6/7 long balls
  • 2/3 aerial duels won
  • 4 clearances
